Summer Camp: Challenge Accepted Wrap-up
Camp has wrapped up and it was a blast. We finished up 3 weeks of camp in July (Family Camp, Middle School Week #2, Grade School Week #2).
Tess, along with some Summer Missionaries, took care of most of the kids of full time workers at camp. Lee got to teach a second round of his classes to new campers during the Middle School Week #2 and Grade School Week #2.
During Grade School Week #2 I, Lee, had a group of 5th Graders and they were full of questions. Our lessons were on following Jesus when we still have a sinful nature. So classes covered Adam & Eve’s story, the Exodus, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Satan. Their questions ranged from from what was God doing before creation, why start the world when He did, and where did Satan come from.

This Summer’s Theme Verse: “Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” – 1 Peter 3:15

Hear interviews with the camp speakers!
Lee also got to sit down with some of the speakers who preached and taught during the evening sessions or during missionary hour (camp invites missionaries to share about their ministries with campers) on The Voice of Camp Nathanael. If you haven’t checked out some of the interviews you can find them on any podcasting app.
They are also posted on the Camp Nathanael Youtube and Facebook!
So What’s Next?
Outdoor Education will be the next big endeavor at Camp Nathanael. Camp will be transformed to welcome in local groups for field trips. This year’s theme will be Trees-R-Terrific. Student’s will learn all about the inner workings of trees, how to make paper, and the history of wood and the advances in tech it has provided over 1000s of years. It will be our first time working at a full Fall Program of Outdoor Ed. We had helped last year in a scaled down Spring 2022 version and the Fall had been canceled due to the Flood.
Pray with us!
- Pray for the campers who are now back home living out the Gospel or wrestling with the truths shared with them.
- Pray for the campers as they return to school that they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in their schools.
- Pray for volunteers and full time staff getting ready to set up for Outdoor Ed (3 weeks of set up) and the 4 week program in September.
- K, our foster son is still with us and growing more curious like any 2 year old. Pray for him and his family!
