June 2025 Summer Camp!

We have finished up most of Summer Camp so far but we have 1 more week of camp starting on Sunday. This year’s camp theme is Con”tent” or Discon”tent” with a focus on Philippines 4:11-13. Camper Devotion Books and Chapel sessions focus in on what contentment looks like in life and what it takes to be content.

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Paul while in prison

What does Camp look like?

We have had many good chapel speakers and missionary speakers. So many campers having fun each week. We have had many of the speakers on the podcast: The Voice of Camp Nathanael!

Tess has worked with the littlest kids this Summer, caring for the Mission Kids (full time staff’s kids). Some other full time workers put together a program for the Mission Kids to be learning songs, Bible verses and having Bible time, craft time and they get to participate in all the activities at camp! They have even helped with some cleaning projects around camp.

I, Lee, have continued leading Bible classes in the mornings with campers. During Grade School (4th and 5th grades) the class is “The 2 Natures” focused on how to follow Jesus even when we mess up. During Middle School (6th-8th grades) the class is on “The Holy Spirit” focused on what, who, and misunderstandings of the Holy Spirit while looking at where He shows up in the Bible.

During High School week I got to continue leading the “Digging Deeper” activity. This is an extra Bible Class for those who choose. We want in this class to give the campers a time to dive into different ways to study and looking at some of the odd parts of our Bibles. This year we focused in on “The Passover”. We took time to read a large chunk of Scripture and then do a word study on the Hebrew and Greek words for Passover and how to look up a word in Strong’s Concordance. On the last day of the activity we did a practice Passover Meal and talked through the elements that were in the original Passover, what was added, and what Jesus did for his Last Supper.

The Swinging Bridge is officially open! We are thankful for the work team that came this spring and did the bulk of the designing and executing the plan to fix the swinging bridge. Our maintenance staff was able to finish the bridge and get that open for our Family Camp week! Our kids enjoyed getting to go across it this past week.

  • There have been 22 campers so far this summer who have made decisions to follow Jesus! Pray for all of our campers as they are back home that they will continue to learn and grow.
  • Keep praying for our foster son M and his mom. Pray for her to continue to make good progress and, more importantly, that she is drawn to Jesus and His church.
