Camp Nathanael is still being utilized for relief efforts and housing those whose houses are being rebuilt. Also, Camp is beginning to get ready for another full year of events and ministry!
Camp Store Restoration
The Camp Store shelving and displays were destroyed in the flood so plans are being made on rebuilding and improving! Tess has been placing orders and talking with t-shirt design companies on finding products to replace and restock items! Tess also is taking more responsibilities in the office.
Lee worked more independently with the Character Education classes this month in Knott County. He also assisted camp with the yearly audit. I know it’s not the most exciting of things but we hope you know that Camp Nathanael holds itself to a very high standard of accountability and stewardship!
The Voice of Camp Nathanael
In 1948 a radio program began called “The Voice of Camp Nathanael”. It was a short program with a devotion and kids from camp singing ♫ “We’ve Come to Camp Nathanael”. It was broadcasted by a local radio station and was a staple for years as one of the ministries of camp. Steven Bell, a coworker and myself, Lee, are the new set of voices joining the program with devotions, interviews with local pastors, and highlighting the ministries of camp. Our first episode (with the new format) premiers on February 1st.
Family Sunday School
We’re starting a new Sunday school class at our church! We have been attending Hindman Baptist Church for almost a year now and are getting more involved in the church’s community. We felt a need to get another Sunday morning group going for those looking to read through books of the Bible and discuss together over coffee! Please be in prayer as February 5th will be the official first day!
We are still waiting on a foster placement. We are thankful for the family time we got over the holidays and a lot of nesting that got done! God’s timing is always perfect so we are thankful for his sovereignty in our life.
