January 2024 ☃️

This month started out cold! My, Lee’s, office work consisted of wrapping things up for 2023 and getting tax paperwork out to donors. Remember sometimes ministry looks like sending tax forms to ensure supporters and missionaries are taken care of!

It snowed here the third week of January and much of the area closed down. Keep in mind snow and ice on roads in the mountains is a dangerous combination. I was able to safely and very slowly make it to campus to help and work.

During the cold we had a pipe bust in the upstairs of our chapel causing our infirmary to have a mini ice skating rink. The repair was quickly made and were thankful for our maintenance crew who winterized (emptied the water pipes) of many of our other buildings not in use in the Fall.

Big projects at Camp!

Pool Repairs

The pool has been in need of repair! A persistent leak has plagued us for some time. It has been determined the issue was in the supply line where it goes into the pool. In order to repair this though required tearing up the pool patio. We are in the demo of the pool patio currently.

Swinging Bridge

The concrete from the pool patio has found a new home forming a new embankment for our swinging bridge. The swinging bridge has been in disrepair since the flood. So it’s exciting to see progress on repairs!

Voice of Camp Nathanael Podcast Anniversary

The next couple of episodes of the Voice of Camp Nathanael are looking back at the history of the broadcast staring in 1948. Lee and Steven Bell went searching through the attic of the chapel and found some of the reels from years ago. With a quick YouTube tutorial we got the reel-to-reel machine working! The next 2 episodes feature clips from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. We are still searching for the some of the earliest recordings. So far the earliest recording we found was from 1961!

Episodes premier on the 1st and 15th of each month!
