February 2025 ❄️
February held more preparation for 2025 events at Camp Nathanael, planning and organizing upcoming events. Some visits to college campuses have happened this month to help recruit workers for the summer and other events and help make the students aware of Camp!
Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry tried something new this year with a Daddy & Daughter Date Night. There were over 50 in attendance for a Friday Evening event. Lee was home sick so Tess’ dad, Clark, filled in for the evening taking Piper. Our mission director, Jeff McIntyre, talked about raising his daughter and the importance of connecting and pointing them to Jesus. As with anything new there were a few hiccups but we’re excited to host another one in 2026!
Flooding
Camp Nathanael (and Knott County in general) did not get hit as hard in the major flooding that happened this month compared to the 2022 flood. The only issues at Camp was getting some of the trash cleaned up out of the fields and dealing with some water in a couple of basements (which were pretty quickly remedied). Lots more damage and loss in our surrounding community, and Camp is talking with different works groups who may utilize Camp as a home base while serving in surrounding communities. Camp will continue with it’s regular ministries and events in the time being.

Weekend Retreats
Weekend events are happening in March! The College Retreat happened this weekend and was our 2nd annual retreat. It was good to have an returning speaker, Curt Vernon, back.
This is followed by 3 more weekend retreats for 4-5th graders and 6-8th graders happening in March. Our weekends will stay pretty busy with events from now until May, followed up by our work week and then Summer Camp! https://campnathanael.org/overnights
