Summer Camp is wrapped up!
Summer Camp is wrapped up. It’s a mix of relief and sadness across campus currently. Continue in prayer for those campers who took the next step in their faith. Some have found their identity for the first time in Jesus. There’s quite a few of the full time staff taking some vacation before the fall programming begins and campus is mostly empty.

What was the best part of Summer?
For me, Lee, it was the questions during the Bible Classes. There’s something special when you see connections being formed and campers asking deeper questions. While discussing what a disciple was and how they would try to become like their teacher in every way, one camper asked: “If those following Jesus were called disciples and were following him now does that makes us disciples?”. The answer was an excited yes.
For me, Tess, it was spending time with all the mission kids and the many volunteers who came to help. It was good connecting with some of the Summer Missionaries (high school and college age) asking what their plans were and how they were growing.
Jasper, Piper, and Jude say the best part of summer was the pool!

The end of Summer is just the start ๐๐งบ
While Summer Camp is over, we are just gearing up for all that is happening in the 2nd half of 2024 at Camp Nathanael. We are about to start prepping for our Outdoor Education program, which will take us all the way to October! Tess will be working a lot during this program, running the store for all the kids to shop at. Our Character Education classes along with Fall Retreats will be starting back up and all of the campus maintenance and office work will still be happening like normal keeping everyone at Camp busy in ministry.
Want to volunteer? Let us know!
What does volunteering look like?
- Who? We have volunteers come from all over. Some church groups and sometimes individual families.
- What? Typically during this time of the year groups help with Outdoor Education (setting up camp, helping do the field trips, etc) or with various building projects.
- When? Some people come for a weekend, a whole week, or even a month! Those who come stay in cabins or in some of our family cabins (think hotel room).
- Why? Our ministries usually take a whole team to pull off and the more hands the lighter the load and the better the ministry. Many people who come volunteer are repeat volunteers who form friendships not only with the full time staff but other volunteers!
Family updates
Baby M turns one year old in August! Jasper and Piper will start Kindergarten in a couple weeks and Jude will be starting preschool! Lots of change happening for our kids this fall.
We took a trip to visit Tess’ family living in Tennessee. The kids got to play with their cousins who are all around the same age which was a lot of fun!
