Summer Camp 2022 Part 1

We are in full-time camp season as I write this. We are in our 4th week of camps. There are currently 60+ high schoolers on campus learning everything from survival skills, horseback riding, creek stomping, axe throwing, cooking, kayaking, and blacksmithing!

Hereโ€™s the the camp schedule so that you know what to be in prayer for:

  • June 3 – 10 Summer Staff Orientation 30 college/high schoolers
  • June 8 – 10 Day Camp (1st-3r Grades) 50+ day campers attended
  • June 12 – 17 Grade School Camp (4th-5th Grades) 50 campers attended
  • June 19 – 24 Middle School Camp (6th-8th Grades) 59 campers attended
  • June 26 – July 1 High School Camp (9th-12th Grades) 67 campers attending
  • July 3 – 7 Family Bible Conference ๐ŸŽ†
  • July 10 – 15 Middle School Camp (6th-8th Grades)
  • July 17 – 22 Grade School Camp (4th-5th Grades)

During the days campers are immersed in learning new skills, having fun, and growing in their faith. Camp is intentional in discipling new and returning Campers. Campers are broken down into if they are new or returning and placed into specific Bible Classes catered to meet them where they are in their journey. For instance, someone who has never attended camp before is going to be in a class introducing the basics of Christianity and following Jesus. Someone who has attended before may be in classes about learning to listen and follow the Holy Spirit. I, Lee, have been shadowing and co-taught in one of the Christianity basics classes.

Tess has been hard at work leading her Dining Hall team in feeding 50+ campers each week, another 30+ Summer Missionaries (Summer Staff), and 20+ full-time staff (that’s us). If youโ€™re doing the math, that’s 100+ people each week.

And itโ€™s all been worth it. Story after story of campers giving their lives to Jesus are coming in each week. Also the deepening of campers faith as they think critically about what they believe and how they can Press On (camps theme this year) to be more like Jesus. These stories come from the counselors in the cabins and at the evening services each day.

Thank you all so much for your support!

Pray with us!

  • Pray for the campers. Pray for those who do not know Jesus to learn and embrace the love of their Heavenly Father.
  • Pray for the Summer Missionaries and Full-Time Staff.
  • Pray for the campers as they return home. Life is not always kind or easy. Pray as we connect them with churches and other Christians that they find community. We are not made to follow Christ alone.
  • We are finally putting the finishing touches on our home. Pray with us as we begin to welcome in friends and family and continue to build community.
