March had lots of events at Camp Nathanael! We had a Men’s event the first Saturday. We had 60+ men in attendance for this event being encouraged to find their identity in Christ! We also got to compete in some axe throwing and clay pigeon shooting!
Spring Retreats
The next 3 weekends in March were all Retreats (yes we were very busy!) The 4th-6th Grade Retreat was maxed out, at 122 kids in attendance (every bunk was full)! Lee spoke during the chapels at this event and was able to break down the Gospel and Christianity in a way they could understand. We had one kid accept Christ this weekend!
First ever College Retreat!
The next overnight was a college overnight, something we have never done before! Curt Vernon, of Commonwealth City Church in Lexington spoke and lead worship. If you want to hear how the weekend went we did a podcast with him too!
7th-12th Grades Spring Retreat
The middle school/high school combined overnight was also packed at 100+ 7th-12th graders in attendance! These Retreats are great encouragement for these kids, getting them excited for their full week during the summer. I worked in the souvenir shop during these weekend events. I got some help from the newest mission family, the Raffertys (Austin and Katie helped in the Camp Store).
Easter Podcast
Tess joined on a podcast episode earlier this month as we shared personal stories about foster care, Lee’s mom, and Easter. We hope it’s an encouragement to you that God is good!
Church Work-groups
We had quite a few work-groups come through camp this month and helped us get a lot of major projects done! Our pool now has the concrete and fence back around it (as opposed to a large dirt ditch)! Most importantly the pipes are no longer leaking! The next step is repainting the pool. It will be filled with water and prepped closer to the summer.
