Fall Flood Relief Ministries

Happy Fall! Our Flood Relief ministries are continuing and most Fall Activities are being put on hold for now. School started a couple weeks ago in our county and most of the other surrounding counties have started as well, so we are finally getting started with some our fall school programs.

Continued Flood Ministries

  • The Distribution Center continues to provide cleaning supplies, household items, clothing, books, and food! As the number of families needing supplies has gone down many of the distribution centers in the area have closed but we are remaining open for a little bit more time.
  • We are still housing many families as they rebuild their homes. Piper, Jasper and Jude love playing with all the kids hanging around, you can often find them with their new friends in the afternoons playing at the playground, riding bikes and playing with chalk.
  • We have played host to many crews come in from churches and businesses to help with rebuilding! This next phase of work will take a lot of specialized technicians including electricians, plumbers, and drywallers. We also have a few crews from the state helping clean out the creeks!

Home & Fostering

We are still unpacking the last few boxes in our “new home” but are getting settled. We have also started the process of becoming Foster Parents again! We knew that once we were in our home we wouldn’t want to wait long. Because we were already a licensed foster family a couple years ago the process is shorter this time. We will be sharing about when new children placed in our home and how you can be praying for all of us!

Jasper and Piper start Preschool!

Jasper and Piper just started Preschool at the school close to camp! They are loving it. We get stories about their new friends, the teachers, and getting chocolate milk for lunch. Jude is now adjusting to not having his older siblings with him during the day and has been traveling with us as we work at camp or hanging out with mom at home.

Pray with us!

  • Pray for everyone rebuilding.
  • Pray for the groups coming to help. Some in the groups are not Christian and just wanted to help. They are encountering through action and word the story of Jesus and his followers in the midst of disaster.
  • Pray with us as we prepare paperwork, our home, and family to welcome in foster children.
