April 2025

April kept us busy! Normal work during the weeks and lots of events happening on the weekends!

Men’s Day 🪓

The 1st Saturday of April was our 3rd annual Men’s Day. Camp welcomed in 50+ men, some came with their church, to a morning filled with field events to compete in: ax throwing, clay pigeon shooting, corn hole, and some more. The overall winner was deemed the “Jack of All Trades”. We also had Josh Holland, a local Navy Chaplin and friend of Camp Nathanael, give a message on Stronger Together.

Women’s Retreat ❤️

The 2nd weekend in April we had our Women’s event, this was an overnight retreat this year and went so well. There was good times of fellowship and conversation around the table and during downtime and the speaker, Katy Beth, did a good job as well. Tess got to go to this event and even spoke at one of the breakout sessions, getting to share about Selfless love and Fellowship, sharing some of our foster care experiences and how to love others selflessly.

KickStart ⚽

The 3rd Saturday was filled with soccer games. Our boys, Jasper and Jude, decided to play this year and are enjoying their time playing soccer. This ministry is put on by our Church, Hindman First Baptist. These games will continue in the Saturdays in May.

Married Couples Retreat 💕

The 4th Weekend was our annual Married Couples Retreat. Lee got to serve behind the scenes in planning and in the sound booth. Lee got to interview the speaker for the Voice of Camp Nathanael Podcast (May 1st episode).

Senior Citizens Days 🍽️

Senior Citizens Days happened as well, with an outside church group coming to help us lead the program and then we had a meal for the senior citizens that came on to our campus on those days. We had a great turn out both days!

Trails to Truth 🐎

Finally at the beginning of this week we had a Trails to Truth Rodeo! There was a huge crowd cheering on the riders who showed off their skills in barrel racing and more. There was also a really unique gospel presentation involving one of the riders taking a new horse to the program and showing after 6 weeks of training how the horse learned to trust it’s rider. Much in the ways that we learn to trust God as he leads us.

Work Week ⚒️

School will finish up for our kids in another week and we will have our annual Work Week (Summer Camp Prep). We are excited for this time to come together as a mission and do all of the final prep and clean ups to get ready for Summer Camp in a few weeks. We are especially excited for a group that is coming in during Work Week to help run a kids program for our mission kids during our morning and evening services so all parents can be present and attentive! This is a game changer when you have as many mission kids on staff as we currently do, over 20!

Prayer Request

  • Work week and all the final prep we are doing.
  • For the kids prepping to come to camp this summer
  • For our Foster son, M, as we have court early this month to see what the judge will determine how this case will proceed
