October 2024 🍬🍭
October had us finishing up our Outdoor Education program and cleaning up. We are incredibly thankful for the people that came and volunteered. If this is something you want to help out with next year let us know! There are lots of different ways you can get involved.

Going “All In” with Weekend Overnights
We also had a Fall overnight retreat for 4th and 5th graders. We were supposed to have 2 but due to sickness and low projected numbers we had to cancel the first one. As a side note: ministry, like anything else, is not always going to go to plan. We had a great turn out for the next one though and most of the campers planning on coming to the first made it to the second!
The theme was All In, talking about Matthew 22:37-39 “He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Campers were challenged with what it would look like to go All In with following Jesus and how that gives their life purpose and meaning. They also got to ride in the hay wagon, roast marshmallows, play 9-square, and worship in song.

Trunk-or-Treat invite to church
Our church, Hindman First Baptist, had a trunk-or-treat and the kids decided to go as Super Mario characters. We had a blast making costumes and getting our trunk ready. Our pastor shared the message of Jesus with the 250 truck-or-treaters who came and invited them to church. It was good to hear conversations inviting neighbors and friends to Sunday morning church.

Have you volunteered with camp in this past year?
If the answer is yes we are having a Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. Think of it like a Thanksgiving for thanking our amazing volunteers. We work all year round but we know that we can only do so much. Many of the ministries at camp would never be at a high level of excellence without help. The dinner is taking place on Friday, November 15th. Call the office to let us know if you’re coming (so we know how much food to prepare)! 606-251-3231
Pray with us
- Pray for our foster son, M, and his mom. She is making progress in her case plan to get him back. We are hopeful and praying for her.
- Pray for the campers attending our Weekend Overnight Events. Pray they are lead to go All In and begin the transformation that only Jesus can bring.
- Pray for the many volunteers who help us do ministry!
